There's no easier way for a petrolhead to lose an entire day than browsing through YouTube and we've made the process easier for the Christmas period by collecting together five of our favourite clips from the Noughties.

From bespoke viral video clips to films of some of the world's top F1 drivers behaving badly, Autoblog UK prides itself on finding great videos on a daily basis. We hope this crop of classics entertain you as much as they do us.

Coulthard swears at Schumacher, French GP 2000
Michael Schumacher had some titanic battles over the years, but his spats with David Coulthard were certainly the most entertaining. Schumacher storming through the pitlane in Spa '98 to accuse DC of trying to kill him was a highlight, but this manoeuvre at Magny Cours in 2000 was particularly brilliant. Coulthard later repassed Schumacher to take the race in one of his better wins but got a slap on the wrist for his naughty gestures. A close runner-up in the comedy stakes was Mark Webber vomiting over the pit radio at Fuji in 2007. And he still came second...

Polo singing dog advert
Volkswagen does make some pretty good adverts – the Germans have a sly wit they seem to invest solely in advertising. The VW Polo advert with the singing dog is a great example of the oeuvre, even if the point was lost on some. There were actually more than 700 complaints to the Advertising Standards Authority on behalf of the little dog that doesn't have a Polo. Not to worry, though – I think he got one as part of his severance package.

Kimi Raikkonen falls over on a yacht
Kimi Raikkonen is something of an enigma amongst recent F1 drivers – the slightly dull, introverted exterior conceals one of the most bizarre characters ever to grace the grid. He's like a Finnish James Hunt, although far less able to hold his booze, as this clip of him falling off the top of a yacht demonstrates. A runner-up for this spot was another classic, where Kimi knocks over a small child – there's a real cottage industry in putting these things on the net.

Ken Block Gymkhana 2, director's cut
Ken Block has become a worldwide superstar thanks to the internet and his astonishing Gymknana videos. Number two, shown here, was the fourth most-viewed viral video of 2009, and has 20.5m hits on YouTube and counting. WRC credibility hasn't been immediately forthcoming for Block in 2010, but the man clearly has some skills. When he can do things like this with a car you wouldn't bet against him finally putting things right on the rally track.

BMW: The Hire - Hostage
BMW produced a series of short films for the internet back in 2001 just after it was invented. Each film starred Clive Owen as 'The Driver' in his brazen attempt to audition as the next Bond (wonder how that worked out...). 'Hostage' was produced for the second series of BMW films and directed by action supremo John Woo. Other manufacturers have tried to crack the internet, but no-one has managed it like BMW did; the BMW Films website had 100m viewers in the four years it was online, and these rank among the finest adverts ever made.
